EPW - Ville a Chalons S.S., fusee quarter-hour repeater, 52mm, 18K gold (tested) OF original case with slide on band at 10:30 to allow/prevent repeat activation via plunge of pendant, signed spring-loaded gilt cuvette, white enamel dial with winding aperture at 2, KWKS, likely a verge escapement though not disassembled to confirm, gilt mvt with pierced and foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, s#12011 and s#49389 within case. Comes as pictured with a short gold-filled chain with replacement 14K gold swivel and with a modern key. Gross weight of assembled watch 79.8 dwt (124.2 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fully wound, will tick with reverse pressure held at winding arbor, good repeat function and tone aside from a notable rapidness of operation, overhaul needed, nearly mint cosmetic mvt condition overall, superb gilt tone, some micro-fine scratches; dial with faint perimeter hls at 9, few mild fine to micro-fine scratches; excellent hands with some mild oxide and finish loss; case shows very little wear, two small protruding dings near center rear caused by punch of hallmarks inside lid, some scattered dings to band, excellent engine turning detail; tight bow; good glass crystal. Chain and key showing light wear.
